Job Summary:
To work efficiently within a multi-disciplinary team providing a service of basic and more complex investigations within the Trust and services offered by the Trust.
Scope and range:
- Perform a variety of diagnostic tests for the cardiac assessment unit following a daily workload schedule as instructed.
- To provide written reports for all investigations. Communicate effectively with other staff members.
- Organisation of departmental diaries and day to day service provision. Assist with writing and development of department protocols
- Support education, training and personal development of other team members.
Duties and responsibilities
- To independently perform and report transthoracic Echocardiography.
- To participate in specialist echo including TOE, DSE, LVO and bubble echo Perform and report Pacemaker follow up.
- Assist with the implantation and selection of cardiac pacemakers
- To perform Haemodynamic monitoring in the Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory.
- To analyse and provide a written report for 24 hour (or longer) ECG recordings using Pathfinder Digital or Pathfinder SL.
- To analyse Event Monitors.
- To lead Exercise Tolerance tests and provide a written report.
- To teach and supervise junior members of staff and student physiologists.
- Assist with training other staff (including junior medical staff) in the performance and technique of tests performed within the department.
- To use the Hospital Patient Administration system (Cosmic). To use the Cardiology patient management system (CRIS) To maintain a clean working environment.
- Is flexible to provide cover at other sites in the case of unexpected absence.
- Assist as required with research projects undertaken.
- Identify own training needs and maintain own skill development.
Essential Candidate Criteria:
- HCPC registration and BSE Accreditation
- Right to work in the UK
