Are you passionate about supporting young people and improving school attendance? This academy is seeking a dedicated Attendance Officer to help drive our commitment to exceptional education at the heart of the community.
About the Role
As Attendance Officer, you will play a vital role in promoting high levels of student attendance across the Academy. You’ll work closely with staff, families, and external agencies to monitor attendance, implement interventions, and ensure compliance with statutory responsibilities.
To support the Assistant Principal responsibility for Attendance in implementing the Academy. Attendance Policy and associated strategy through monitoring, reporting on and promoting high student attendance levels throughout the Academy. To carry out the statutory responsibilities associated with student attendance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and record student attendance and punctuality using the Academy’s systems.
- Produce weekly attendance reports and support data analysis.
- Liaise with families through calls, home visits, and parent workshops.
- Support legal interventions including Fixed Penalty Notices and referrals.
- Attend and contribute to multi-agency meetings.
- Assist with first aid provision (training provided).
What We’re Looking For
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade A*–C) or equivalent.
Strong understanding of DfE guidance on school attendance.
Experience working with families and external agencies.
Excellent data administration and organisational skills.
Confidence in handling challenging conversations with empathy.
Personal Qualities:
Resilient, adaptable, and motivated.
Committed to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children.
Strong interpersonal skills and discretion.
Willingness to undertake First Aid training.
