Hourly Rate: £24 to £26 per hour
Working hours: Monday to Friday 37.5 hours

Contract Length: 3 months minimum
Job Summary:
- To provide pharmaceutical services which includes, the issuing, dispensing and final checking of prescriptions for Barnet, Enfield & Haringey service users.
- To provide pharmaceutical advice to patients and/or carers.
- Responsible for day to day supervision of junior staff when requested by the dispensary manager.
- To hold and maintain technician accuracy checking qualification.
- Required to work independently without direct supervision from senior colleagues.
- To be a MMT
- To hold the Accredited Checking Pharmacy Scheme (ACPT) qualification and keep up to date with current training developments and maintaining the accreditation through re-validation at the required time if required
- Communicate with service users and other healthcare professionals, including counseling patients and carers on the use of their medication as required.
- Use ePMA
- Accurately transcribe prescription information onto the pharmacy stock control system then dispense the item following standard operating procedures
- Deputises for the Dispensary Manager where relevant.
- Assists the Dispensary Manager with induction, training and development of staff working within the section/department.
- Supports the Dispensary Manager in ensuring that Trust Policies and Procedures are adhered to.
Essential Candidate Criteria:
- BTEC/NVQ 3 in Pharmaceutical Service
- Registered as a practicing pharmacy technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician
- Significant post qualification hospital pharmacy experience
- Controlled drug legislation
- Education and training of pharmacy staff
- Experience with pharmacy labelling and stock control systems
- Supervision of new of junior staff
