Hourly Rate: £23 to £25 per hour (Band 6) / £28 to £30 per hour (Band 7)

Working hours: 37.5 hour per week, 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday; happy to look at working short hours per week but must be able to work 5 days a week in the mornings till 1.30pm as a minimum. Will consider 2 days from home.

Job Summary

  • The post holder will be expected to work with the Lead Pharmacist to develop clinical pharmacy services within the Luton and Bedfordshire directorates.
  • They will be responsible for implementing and monitoring the Trust’s clinical pharmacy standards as well as ensuring the clinical service is of high quality and patient-focused.
  • They will identify gaps and problem areas in the service and will use quality improvement methodology to make positive changes.
  • To be involved in effective stock control and cost-effective medicines expenditure across Luton and Bedfordshire directorates. 
  • To manage clozapine supply for in-patients and out-patient clinic. 
  • The service has wards based across Bedfordshire the postcodes for these wards; LU4 0FB, LU55BF, LU49WT, MK40 2NT MK43 8HJ
  • The clinical pharmacist ward cover would be covering a couple of Luton or Bedford wards daily 
  • Must have hospital and mental health experience; able to carry out medicines reconciliations, attend MDTs and support with providing prescribing advice to prescribers. Counselling advice to patients.
  • Good IT skills - able to use JAC - EPMA, Microsoft team, Excel, RIO

Essential Candidate Criteria:

  • Masters Degree in Pharmacy
  • GPhC Registered as a Pharmacist
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Must have access to a car and a UK driving license
  • Must have hospital and mental health experience; able to carry out medicines reconciliations, attend MDTs and support with providing prescribing advice to prescribers. Counselling advice to patients.
  • Hospital experience ideally at least 2 years
  • Good IT skills - able to use JAC - EPMA, Microsoft team, Excel, RIO
