Job Title: Clinical Psychologist

Contract Type: Permanent 

Working hours: 3 - 5 days per week, Mon - Fri

Salary: £50,000 per annum

Work Type: Hybrid role

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Providing specialist psychological assessments, using and interpreting information gathered through tests, rating scales, observations and interviews (namely ADOS and ADI-R)
  • Evaluating and making decisions about treatment options, taking into account both theoretical and therapeutic models and highly complex factors concerning the patient's history.
  • Exercising autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment, treatment and discharge of clients whose problems are managed by psychologically based care.
  • Providing specialist psychological advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals, contributing towards a client's formulation, diagnosis and treatment plan.
  • Providing clinical supervision to less experienced psychologists within the team.
  • Working alongside Lead Clinical Psychologists to provide staff training and embed psychological thinking within the wider team.
  • Conducting ASD diagnostic assessments with children and adults.
  • Exercising full clinical responsibility for clients' psychological care and treatment.
  • Ensuring an excellent quality of service in both remote and face-to-face assessment settings.

 

Our Client

  • Our client is a multi-disciplinary therapy centre, offering a wide range of in person and online therapies and assessments nationwide.
  • Therapies include speech and language, occupational therapy, art, drama and play therapy as well as Autism and ADHD assessments. 

 

Essential Criteria :

  • A Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (recognised by both the BPS and HCPC)
  • Full ADOS training
  • Extensive experience in completing detailed developmental histories (ADI-R training is highly desirable)
  • Experience delivering online and face-to-face ASD diagnostic assessments, including differential diagnosis experience
  • HCPC registration
  • Strong understanding of DSM-V criteria and NICE guidelines in relation to ASD
  • Experience working in MDTs
