Job Title: Family Therapist

Location: Surrey

Hours: Part-time - 18.75

We are looking for a part time, experienced and motivated Family Therapist required to join a brand new 12 bed CAMHS service supporting young people between the ages of 12 – 18 years old in Surrey.

This is a part time position 18.75 hours per week. 
 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • To promote the health and independence of people who use our clients' services by delivering high quality systemic assessments, formulation, interventions, and consultation and providing supervision and guidance to the multi-disciplinary team.
  • To provide a comprehensive, specialist family therapy service to young people, their families and support networks.
  • Contribute to the development of understanding around systemic practice within the clinical setting, linking with MDT colleagues to promote joint working and collaboration. 
  • To provide specialist mental health and psychological assessment and therapy (as appropriate to professional training) as well as offering advice and consultation on young person’s care to other members of the core team.
  • Support and provide clinical supervision to other members of the team where appropriate, including in the event of a serious or significant incident.
  • To offer training to staff and other professional colleagues around therapeutic skills, young adult mental health and related issues. 

To be a Successful Family Therapist you will need:

  • AFT Qualifying level course in Systemic Psychotherapy or equivalent at Masters/Doctoral level
  • UKCP Registered
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working with children, young people, families and groups.
  • Substantial experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to prioritise case referrals, assessment and discharge effectively on an individual basis or within multidisciplinary team.
  • Specialist expertise in particular areas e.g., eating disorders, child protection issues, attachment difficulties
  • Experience in working with multiple types of family structure
  • Group work experience
  • At least two years’ experience of working in a mental health setting
