Blackstone Recruitment are working with a provider of education, care and support services for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities who are recruiting for a Head of School for one of their schools in Surrey.

Location: Effingham, Surrey

Hours: 40 hours per week

Salary: £61,789 - £67,928 (FL11 – FL15)

Closing Date: 11pm 6th May 2024

Interviews: 9th/10th May

About the School:

The school is a warm and welcoming school for students aged 11 to 16 who experience a range of needs including autism spectrum conditions and associated behaviours, moderate learning difficulties or specific learning difficulties.

The role:

They are seeking a talented individual, who will provide highly effective leadership of the school.

The Head of School will take a leadership role in assisting the Principal to develop the school in accordance with its shared values and school development plans.

Experience: 

Successful candidate is likely to demonstrate the following:

  • Successful leadership and management experience in a school.
  • Teaching experience within an SEN setting
  • Involvement in school self-evaluation and development planning
  • Demonstrable experience of successful line management and staff development
  • Data analysis skills, and the ability to use data to set targets and identify weaknesses.
  • Understanding of high-quality teaching based on evidence, and the ability to model this for others and support others to improve.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build effective working relationships.
  • A commitment to getting the best outcomes for all pupils and promoting the ethos and values of the school.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise effectively.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality at all times.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and equality, ensuring that personal beliefs are not expressed in ways that exploit the position.

Duties will vary, you must expect to diversify and lend a hand wherever is required.
